Question by Angie: Why is the government so eager to help homeowners in foreclosure, but not renters in eviction?
There has been so much talk about helping homeowners who are in foreclosure, but no one discusses renters who are facing eviction. I think there are as many if not more Americans facing eviction than foreclosure. Don’t they count? Why is this and what can I do to draw the governments attention to this issue?

The sad fact is that homeowners contribute a lot more to the economy than renters.

It’s a matter of priority where long term vs. short term investment plays a big part. When you rent, there is no loan from a bank. When you buy there usually is. Also, when you rent, your property taxes are paid whether or not you pay your rent. When you own, you manage payments for the taxes yourself. Things like this make a big difference.

The government should not help either. Afterall, they got themselves into that mess.
