Question by John K america beware!: Who Else Looks At Congress And The Bailouts Like This?
Regardless of size those who find themselves in dire financial straits due to mismanagement must turn to outside investors for recapitalization and new talent or otherwise protection under bankruptcy laws.

When businesses cannot find such investors in the free markets to why would congress even consider using taxpayer funds to help them out?

Any guess as what the ulterior motives are?

Power and wealth, not sure that was ever secondary to any other motive for those hogs. The exception are those who voted against the bailout. IRONICALLY the republicans who were running for re-election, who voted against it, were all re-elected to office, odd that the news media would miss that, isn’t it?

It’s because of deregulation. If companies were not allowed to grow to be “too big to fail”, we wouldn’t have to bail them out when they screw up. We need more anti-trust type laws.
