Question by Carl W: question about pre-paid legal services?
I’m thinking about getting pre-paid legal coverage, but theres one thing I can’t figure out. Is “prepaid legal” the name of one single company, or are there actually lots of different prepaid legal services of varying quality?

They’re all pretty much scams. I can’t, for the life of me, figure out why somebody would choose to do this unless you plan on spending a lot of time tangled up in the legal system.

PPL is nothing more than a pyramid scheme, for the people selling “membership”. What you get for your monthly fee is nothing. Read the contract… if you actually need a real lawyer, they won’t help you. They do not cover criminal or civil cases, family law, or any of the other things that you would normally hire an attorney to do for you. They will write a collection letter, and perhaps assist in a will or other estate documents. You can get all that off the Internet for free!

    Waste of time and money.

Why would it be scam? Would that mean that Car and Home Owners Insurance is scam. Do you want to spend a lot of time tangled up in a house fire or flood to your home or a car accident.

    It’s preventive coverage insurance.

I hate when someone calls something a Scam just because they have no clue what it really is about. It’s a legit insurance and its mainly only for legal
