In the state of Florida, if your home gets foreclosed on, how long do you usually have before you have to get out?

    Actually, it depends. After the foreclosure notice is issued, you still have time to get a loan modification with your lender. You have until the house is actually SOLD to request for a modification.

    If your modification request is denied and your house is already sold, you still have up to the Certificate of Sale is issued to redeem or purchase back your house.

    I suggest you take the first step of contacting a non-profit org to assist you with the loan modification process (YES, even if you’ve already received a foreclosure notice). Keep in mind, you WILL NOT have to pay for this loan modification process. The thing that YOU need to you do once you got assistance is to actively follow up with your lender to check on the status of your request. You shouldn’t have to involve and pay for lawyer fee unless you really really think you have some legal issues to address concerning your home i.e filing BK.
