Question by BMW M6: Help! Need legal Advice! Possession of Illegal Fireworks?
First of all I am fourteen years old. Okay, 2 weeks ago, I bought a prepaid credit card to buy the supplies for making firecrackers online (I saw some videos on youtube of firecrackers and I wanted to make my own) (I had no Idea they were illegal). Somebody found out and called the police and they knocked on my door saying “Hello, We have heard that you have illegal explosives in your home.” My mother at first told them that they were not allowed to come in and search my house. The cops keeped nagging on us and nagging and finally one cop said, “Look Ma’am, we are only looking for pipe bombs, dynamite, grenades etc. If its just a couple M-80s just give them to us and we will be on our way.” So I had some firecrackers that I bought in Chinatown a while back and we gave them to the cops and said that was all we had. They completely lied to us and then put us in hand cuffs and 2 and a half later while we were waiting on our front porch, the bomb squad arrived and they had bomb sniffing dogs in our house. They took all of my home made fireworks and the flash powder which I bough online (I had about 50 m80s). They confiscated all of it and took us to the city jail. They questioned me and took my picture, fingerprints, and all that good stuff. The cop wrote me a ticket for “Misdemeanor Possession of Illegal Fireworks.” I have to go to court. My mother was charged with “Misdemeanor Child Endangerment.” I think this is completely corrupt that major companies allow me to buy this when they know its illegal to make your own Illegal fireworks. I had no Idea that these things were illegal and the companies did not even tell me. We did nothing wrong and had no intentions of harming anything. I just need to know what I can expect in court and what they will probably do to me. The detective told me that if I told the judge that I learned from my mistake and will never do it again, they will probably let me off with a warning or a small fine. We can not afford five thousand dollar attorneys so we have to settle with a public defender. Do any of you have any advice for me or any information on what I can expect? I thank each and every one of you for reading this. Thanks in advance. =)

Ignorance of the law is NO excuse. Do the crime, do the time.

Wow, talk about being unwilling to take responsibility for your own actions! I think you have a rude awakening in front of you.

    Don’t drop the soap!

EDIT: I’m sorry, I realize I didn’t answer your precise question. In court, you can expect to be sentenced to prison.

In prison you can expect to be repeatedly raped by the inmates who like 14 year old boys.

Don’t make bombs. It is really, really, bad. No one believes you when you say you did not know that. No one.
