Here is the deal. My stepson’s middle name is spelled Alan on his birth certificate and Allen on his social security card. How do we need to go about fixing this? He is 13 now and he needs everything in order before he starts driving. Also his biological mom signed all her rights away if that info helps.

Go to your nearest SS office…. they will help you take care of it quickly. This one is an easy fix.

What i would do is go along to your local Citizen’s advice bureau, they will tell you what you should do
Your going to need to go to SS dept to have his name changed..
but I also think in order to do that .. theyre also going to have to give him
a new SS numbber as well..
Call them all the County Records dept and SS office to find out what
the right steps are for you to take..
I would call before going in..
and its best to do this now.. before he does turn of legal age..
if you dont it’ll get harder for him..
now before its too late and complicated..
