can I become a cop with a recent bankruptcy?

Question by owvp702: can I become a cop with a recent bankruptcy?
I have no major issues besides this. No felonies, no drug history, no criminal record or anything. I had a bankruptcy written off about a year ago. I had 2 things in collections but I paid those off a week ago. The background investigator said there’s a chance I could be DQ’d because of the bankruptcy and credit history. With everything else being fairly clean with me do you think I will be able to make it even though I have this on my record?

Some will say no…. but I would still make an attempt in the application process for becoming a police officer and be up front and honest about your bankruptcy.

    good Luck!!
