Question by Henry: Are email communications legal documents for employment?
My boss promised me bonus through emails but it is not written in the contract, am i entitled for the bonus?? Thanks.

Bonuses are just that, a bonus. They are not guaranteed.

    Verbal and not written contracts can stand up in court. If in the email the boss promised X if you did Y and you agreed then there was a meeting of the minds and it could well stand up in court.

    Example,

    “Bob, if you sell 2000 widgets this month the company will pay you a bonus of $ 1000.”

    —and you reply

    “Sounds fair boss, I will do my best.”

    While a written contract would be better the above exchange would be just a binding as long as you can prove it happened.
